Well made game mate! However, I would like to have an option to set if i want gear/clothing to decay over time or turn it off completely. I do not like having a full backpack of items and have it rupture on me above a chasm while not being able to pick all the items back up due to lack of storage.

I believe that it is enough to repair items during the journey with available materials, adding the option of not damaging equipment will spoil the game mechanics and its entire survival atmosphere on which the game is based, besides, equipment during the journey is constantly exploited due to factors such as water, dirt, falls, more dangerous situations with traps, therefore it will break, but everyone has their own suggestions

I love having a stalagmite fall on my head because I shot in the air, then it rips off my jaw and my eye falls out because of the pressure in the head. And then blood started to pool in my lungs causing a hemothorax, making me fall unconscious just when an earthquake begins throwing me in a puddle drowning me. 10/10, so addicting, can barely make it pass layer 3 but really just a skill issue

it is fake. They are a hacked bot account spamming links to hack other accounts.

I have trouble locate my cursor so i made it very big in the system settings, and somehow it become extremely large in the game.

I don't know your problem, but it can be caused by many factors, what Windows version you have, other system updates that can break something, and many other programs, try running the game as administrator or with Win7 compatibility

An "Are you sure?" dialogue when clicking to start new game when you have a save file from previously would be lovely! I keep clicking through the intro text and then start game too fast, not remembering I have a save

Next to the saved game window is an icon and the game time. This isn't very easy to read because the font is quite small in the original language version, and the icon itself should be larger. It's easy to miss the fact that the game is saved. It's worth mentioning any inconveniences, bugs, etc. If Orsoniks takes this into account, it's possible they will be fixed in future updates.

(The colorful font and slightly larger font are my own design for my region in Poland. I'm not sharing my work at the moment. I'd like to receive permission from Orsoniks first. I respect his work, and any larger modifications are more considered a mod than a standard translation of the game into other languages in the original font size and color.)

Не знаю как у других, но у меня после прохождения 5-го слоя каким-то образом появились 2 абсолютно пустых биома, которых ещё даже нет в игре. После прохождения последнего моё сохранение сломалось и не могло загрузиться( Было это на версии 401.



Happened to me too. that modded run has ended cuz i wanted to see what happened.

The game is in beta, so it probably has a lot of unfinished things, and the empty biomes probably weren't designed, but they are already added to the game, so the game randomly selected them from the available maps in a given level. I haven't played it enough to determine whether such locations are repeated and how many levels are completed in this available map, but that's how I can explain it to you. Based on what I know about how the mechanics work in Diablo 2, where I spent a lot of time creating modifications for the game.

Fun thing, i don't own a proper CPU to play the game as smooth as it should be, however, trying to exit and pressin | (also ° and ¬ on my keyboard) after the esc button, i accidentally found out about a console that i suppose was only meant for the developer to use, either way, it reminded me of SCP: Containment Breach so i wanted to point it out. Still a very good game, hope you finish it some day!

Figuring out and developing ideas for the future of our Experiment. The more you play, the more you learn in this game. Judging by the idea of how deep you'll have to descend to retrieve the artifact, which is already quite a challenge, it will likely be 10 levels to descend and a storyline in which we'll have to return to the top, which would provide another 10 newly generated maps for the return, plus two maps (surface) and (path to freedom) at the end of the game. That's a total of 22 maps to explore, at least I think so. But as we know, since this is a BETA game, I don't know if it allows for completion yet. In either case, the game will probably change further, and I think it will be more expansive to explore than before. In the game itself, you might already encounter things like scaffolding, a climbing hook, and rock-crushing drills that would make the return easier :).

Following this lead, another cool idea for ACT 2 is born. Something went wrong during the return to Earth and our return ship was damaged by a hail of meteors and crashed in an unknown location. To return, we have to descend again and explore the remains of an old complex of an unknown civilization, delving into dark corridors and cave systems and looking for the necessary elements to repair our ship :) Just figuring out the game gives a lot of satisfaction, and coming up with new ideas for the game is pure pleasure. I believe that releasing the game in the demo phase on Steem is a bull's eye :)

so, first off, this is my new hyperfixation and i'm hoping to get a laptop to actually play this. second, WOW. let's see... amazing artstyle, I personally love low-res games(rain world my beloved <3), amazing medical system. In the tutorial it looks incredibly difficult to manage and under pressure it definitely looks like it can be, but in reality, the game gives you plenty of resources to survive and manage! you just have to do it correctly, and strategically. the attention to detail is EXTRAORDINARY. I absolutely love the experiment speaking to himself, saying his thoughts, swearing, etc. beautiful, intense OST, you got the mood PERFECT with all of the music. Stepping on glass shards, especially.

My experience with this game: "Well, that went pretty smoothly... until it didn't"

Keep up the good work! This is super addictive and the health system feels super "hands on".

I really feel all my failures are my own fault, and taking practice is really fun. I can't wait to see whatever is unpolished be polished, since in my perspective it's already pretty smooth.

Well, it's surprisingly quick of how a manageable run quickly turns into death spiral because my experiment landed on a hidden mine, fell into a tesla coil, tumbling down several stories and is currently drowning in oil...

To be honest, I only played the game for a dozen times and I'm interested in how the game's gonna turns out.

Found your game, donated and i hope i see a final in a few years or something. Your game to me is something i would buy.  Keep up the updates when you can. Ill be watching.

Love this game, though I do kinda want rocks to exist (and possibly tools/weapons made from such things)

Hey, I wanted to make a suggestion, if it's possible. What do you think about adding the ability to play with a friend? Like, 2-player, I'm eagerly awaiting the end of the game.

Cant wait to painfully die while I cause the painful death of my compatriots.

Zalaros -Oh, I see someone here is also from Poland. I'm not very good at English, but it's manageable these days. I've only been here for a short time and the game caught my eye. As for the Polish translation, I wasn't sure if it was possible creation . I've basically finished the beta version of the Polish translation for version 4.0.1. Not everything is translated precisely, but it's correct enough that you can understand the game mechanics. I wrote to Orsonix on Discord about publishing or permission to share such a Polish translation, because it is already a kind of modification to the game. I'm still working on the extended version 4.0.1, which also has more complex statements, differently interpreted items (some can be translated differently), additional font changes in the menu, minor changes in the main character menu, etc., and other minor changes :) but this is a more complex modified Polish translation that would require permission to share. I don't know if Orsonix visits this site often, but If so, please contact me about this, respect for the work on the game :), it's a pity that the game is not included in the game catalog on the website https://www.moddb.com/, where I have an account, there are appropriate tabs for the game where you can add modifications, etc., it is probably the largest database of game modifications I know..

I tried translating this game to Polish. It's not perfect by any means but I tried. I also added some small tasteful Easter eggs. It's translated in 100% for version 4.01 (except parts in main menu). I don't know how to post this correctly on GitHub and I honestly don't care so I'm posting this here. Have fun. They deserve better!

The bug report page is in the casualties unknown discord. Add your bug report to the bug report channel and follow the given template for bug reports, though I also suggest you scan the bug report page to see if your issue has already been submitted there. I dont know the exact info about the scenario you were in but for me it is a pretty common issue, that when your character sits or lays down and an equipped container clips into the ground, you are unable to acces it, but to fix that issue just move around a bit.

stepping on a landmine followed by five minutes of watching the poor creature writhe in agony to the haunting OST was utterly harrowing, but peak

playing this made me very queasy and sad. 10/10

I love this game, but I'd rather play w/o the tutrial as the wall jumps suck due to how you don't have move speedboost to jump to the opposite wall... ouch!

Same, but i honestly dont know how itd work, what happens if a player dies, only answer i could come up with is a pod, or an item to call them a replacement, that being said the pods cant dig that deep in lore so itd have to a gameplay over lore kinda mechanic

Find special type of sleeping experiment = 2nd player controls them as they wake up.

If they can’t dig that deep how are there pods with traders at all levels? Did they like disassemble them, carry all the parts to a deeper location and reassemble them?

how far down did ya make it? im pretty sure the deepest I got was like 3 or 4 and there wasnt shit down there

I think I got to 4 furthest. I saw a youtube video with a guy at a deeper level and there was a trader. I think it’s just more dangerous and expensive to make them drill further.

I think a good system would be for it to have a cooldown given time is money (or rather food wasted) in this game, and when calling somebody down the further you are the higher the chance of some malfunction and the chance of the malfunction being more severe, so that you would have to waste a bunch of medicine rather then find a very specific item.

so if they don't have medical supplies ready there's a chance the second player would immediately die and continue to not get to play? Yeah no, that's a horrible mechanic

I've never used a medical station, so I dont know how powerful they are, but maybe you could carry their corpse to one to revive them. or, maybe you could use some sorta battery powered life support gadget that keeps their heart beating and blood oxygenated until you can find the proper treatment. Wouldn't keep them be conscious though, that'd be OP.

When one dies, you can recruit sellers, and there could be a revive mechanism for the corpses, which deteriorate more every time. And you have to recover the brain chip. Or that's how I would implement it idk

sellers are a good option, but some of them are hostile, how would that change? And they're also very sparse, I think the best bet would be allowing a call in per stage

after playing for a few hours i have to say that this is a great game! Im very interested to see if it keeps getting updates.

just created an account on itch.io because of this game, i haven't played much yet, but I'm super excited about its development, simply one of the best games I've played! (I saw on discord about the multiplayer issue, but I still hope it has something like that in the future, no matter how simple it is xd) good work!

Double07even - From my perspective, adding new special gadgets or chips that can be used on the character if they are found, crafted during the journey, or purchased from vendors would be enough, although from what I've seen there are already some character upgrade mechanisms, hmm, or if so, adding a new type of character prototype to choose from with its own unique traits, I don't know if developing passive character skills wouldn't break other game mechanics.

That's what I was thinking, like how there are there are more than one type of character already in the game (The one you play as and the white guy) maybe each with its own set of traits... or maybe the one you play as has no traits while the others have ups and downs.

The white ones are called milkies, they and the experiments both originate from orsoniks previous games, not sure how far back milkies go but they were from gunsaw to my knowledge. There are plenty of other species in gunsaw that could potentially be brought over to casualties unknown, though I am unsure on the timeframe of all this, cause gunsaw is a decent chunk in the future compared to casualties unknown, plus experiments are described to be the first species brought in large numbers to the planet on which both games take place. Maybe a couple more species could be possible cantitades for addition into casualties unknown, idunno really.

On milkies themselves though, they are described as dextrous but frail specimens, with incredible intelligence and they tend to speak in a formal manner, though I havent actually managed to notice the difference between milkie and experiment communication.

Experiments have also been described as being basic, a template for all the other species, there isnt much special about experiments.

Really good game, and I frankly find the fact that this is just a demo astounding. Also, I would really like to see the addition of traits or perks to this game, to basically allow for player specific builds on how they want to survive or deal with obstacles.

I love this game, hard as hell but I love it. Respect to the pixel artist and programmer I love the mechanics n characters. Wonder how humans would look like
