Can the developer possibly make it able to play in browser or android.

(2 edits) (+3)(-15)

unfortunately I can already forsee this game never getting finished, only bc of how popular it’s getting and the toll this has/will take on the dev. so I’m just gonna say this in advance: I really hope that if the dev can no longer maintain/develop this that they let someone else pick up where they left of. it’s really sad seeing so many amazing indie games that have so much potential die.

just to be clear I’m not saying this game is dead, as you can see it’s very much thriving. I’m just saying that I want it to continue to thrive regardless of circumstances, and considering burning out an indie dev is off the table (for obvious reasons, come on now, that would just be mean), it would likely involve opening development of this to more the one (or a few, in actually not sure if this is a solo project or not, but from what I can tell it might be) people

I don't know if feedback matters here instead of discord, but I'll leave it here anyway, coz discord is banned in my country.

The inventory still feels like the biggest struggle to me in this game. Only needing 1% of an item, but having to carry 100% of it because you can't toss the other 99% away? Pain.

Especially with combinable stuff.

I have two scrap pieces. One at 77%, another at 78%. I decide, why not turn one of them into 100%? So I do. Now I have one at 100%, and one at 55%.

I then think, "Hmm, I need a metal alloy. What do I need for that?"
"Oh... 2 pieces of 75% scrap... shiiit."

Similar problem with batteries. The game doesn't accept a powered item if it's at 0% battery even though technically it doesn't have a condition otherwise. So you need to find at least 1% battery to be able to craft with the item.

Feels like it might need some kind of a different system instead of using percentages. Maybe just count? Like, stacking metal scrap pieces. So instead of having 2 pieces where one is this % and other is that %, you have like 44 small scrap bits, and the recipe requires like 30.
No idea how you'd make it work if the scrap bits are spread through multiple containers, though. Probably a real pain in the butt.

Either way, just sharing what the most painful part of the game is. Inventory management. Sitting in one place and figuring out what to do with my stuff, while my hunger is draining, is not fun. I mean, it could be, but not in the current format, not for me.

Just my personal opinion. It's your game, so do whatever. I'm glad I got to play it either way. It's still fun despite the frustrating stuff.

Even thou' this is not Scav, but It's related to it!
Ever wondered what would happen if you give this furry lad a weapon and let it go on a rampage?
Check this shizz out!

There was also another one called bloodsaw, but it was removed because people kept bugging Orsonik.

Really?
That's a shame, hope he will bring that back, as well as keep continuing the awesome work he already put in these games!

This game goes so hard, still buggy but its not done so that's fine but I'm very excited to see where it goes.

The gameplay loop is already addictive and feels fully fleshed out and there is more polish then I could ask for.  I imagine the dev hates hearing this but it feels like the game is asking for a coop mode with how intense the survival mechanics are but without the feeling of isolation is oppressive and helps the games tone immensely.

I'm already a massive fan and hope to see this game take off more then it seemingly already is as well as to see where Osoniks takes it.

(+1)

Heya! So, I REALLY love the game! but I think there's one main point of criticism that feels either glossed over, or not at all mentioned that's VERY important, and it's basically:

Scrap is VERY important, and you can combine pieces of scrap to make one bigger whole.

I'd been looking around for a 70% piece of scrap for a while to craft things with, and it dawned on me fairly late that you can combine 'em to get that amount. And THEN i started looking for scrap since it seemed very important.

That's basically the main thing I feel is missing though. :P

(1 edit)

This game is amazing, I absolutely LOVE this style of games. A little confusing, yeah. But that´s part of the fun! One thing I really miss is a save button, so I can save my progress for when I want to play later.

(+1)

Scavenger dying repeatedly? Must be Arti

(+3)

Personally, I would appreciate if the escape key paused the game. Having to walk away is definitely something that happens.

(-2)

unfocusing (alt+tab or windows key) the game pauses it

(-2)

It doesn't though

(+2)

This game is actually so good. It has Project Zomboid-esque moodle and health system. Like: "Remember that scratch you took from falling? It's infected now! Better hope there are some glowplants around!" And how you can take your surroundings and turn them into useful things. Take some foliage from nearby plants, and some metal from the nearby traps, and BOOM you have a bag! You are bleeding? No worries! Just take 3 piles of foliage from those glowplants and geofruit trees to make some ripped dressing! Another choice is to just find a mushplant and use their arms as bandages!

You can ABSOLUTELY survive this game just from plants and traps. It is just... VERY difficult. You need containers to store stuff, and foliage bags often don't cut it. And it just feels so good to find a full durability toolbox to put everything in.

Now I am gonna talk about silly stuff :3

I figured out how the dev menu works, and I immediately dismembered my head. Still alive somehow. Added 100% pain to my left foot and collapsed from shock. Ripped out one eye (horrible) , then ripped out the other (Suprisingly still playable). Removed my lower jaw. Made myself super happy, then super sad. Skipped to a layer, and got my foot dismembered by a big guy. Little guy has been THROUGH it.

So, overall. 9/10, would recommend if you like hardcore survival games like Project Zomboid.

(+5)

The trader didn't even react to me being in extreme pain and bleeding out in front of them so I blew their brains out. 9/10 would do again

i love this game PLEASE update it

(+1)

Update: 11 day ago…

(+4)

This should be called depression simulator, its one of the genuinely saddest games I played, im not saying its bad im saying the game plot if very depression imagine being stranded on a planet thousands maybe 100s of 1000s of miles away from your home planet and even at your home you were still supressed

(+1)

very cool and amazing!!!!!!!!!! i cant wait for the full game!!!!!! one time i died of hypothermia in my sleep so that was fun

(+2)(-1)

можна проткнуть маленького фурёнка ловушкой , лайк

(+8)

I made a couple of burgers with a bottle of ketchup I've found, and it made my character so happy. Pretty little thing.

(+5)

Furry hell yeah

(+1)(-34)

give us multiplayer and make the character less furry suit like and more like an actual animal that is designed to survive in the wilderness plz

(+6)

They aren't supposed to be designed to survive in the wilderness. They are artificial. Also, as fun as multiplayer sounds, it's difficult to program.

(-5)

wouldn't the ''fusion'' betwen an human and an animal still look more animal than what we have now, literally looks like a furry suit i'm not even kidding

(+3)

The creator of this game is a furry, and a fusion between human and animal is just scientifically impossible, and it'd honestly just look a little grotesque if it were realistic; I believe that the main character being cute and not physically adapted to the environment adds to the experience, because it makes you more attached to your lil fluffball.

(-1)

"scientifically impossible"

you are wrong

(1 edit) (+2)

Even a hybrid between humanity's closest alive relative is hypothetical; yes, there were likely hybrids between Neanderthals and Humans, but we don't know for sure, and even then, they were EXTREMELY close species; something like a fox or a rat just isn't viable the as chromosomes are too different.

(+1)(-3)

if they were made to explore new planets, artificially, they woulda been artificially and genenticly cherrypicked to be best suited for the enviroment, right?

(+1)

They wasn't used for that. They was only "tested" and that mission that we are send in was "behavior experiment". So, we wasn't even ment be send to that harsh place like that planet.

(-1)

Yeah, I think so too! I believe these creatures were specifically engineered to be delivered to this planet and “retrieve piece of cargo.” They seem perfectly adapted for this mission – insanely tough, have opposable thumb (it seems like at least), yellow blood just like the local wildlife (whatever the reason, maybe an adaptation to excess lead in the soil, like leadbush?), and upright walking as a feature too. I don’t see any problem with these “fox-rat-dogs” being bipedal (anthropomorphic) – just another useful trait.

My only nitpick is with the original term “combining human and animal DNA” – it sounds kinda unprofessional (I’m sure english has better ways to describe genetic engineering, lol)

(+11)

I'm not a furry, but the game is really good, really difficult, realistic, and fun. I'm thinking I'm a masochist...

(+4)(-4)

This game is a extremely hard but addictive game to play. Five Stars

Is there a possibility to have a setting to turn of swearing in the game? Its hard to recommend for people I know due to the fowl langue. I like it due to the realism of what the game is, but the ability to turn it of or sensor it so others can enjoy would be nice.

Also customization of my character would be fun to have.

(+3)(-12)

just tell them to stop being a bitch

(+13)

What sort of people have a problem with swearing but not with the character crying from pain after getting impaled by a rusty spike?

Live streamers and content creators especially on YouTube probably

(+3)

If they're having trouble with fowl language then I'm surprised they haven't flown the coop yet.

(+7)

very high quality game, very realistic, and difficult.

For people who like tough survival in a more 2d style, this is def up your alley. Hope to see the game grow!

(+12)

Online multiplayer would be a double edged sword

On one hand, your teammates are constantly trying to help you

On the other hand, they take up a bit of resource and their death will be very impactful

(+1)

I care about this game and just want to give some ideas

Will multiplayer mode be added?

different body colors?

will add specializations (like strong morale and vice versa)?

will more enemies be added?

(+4)

One of the best currently free games out there, I hope for this game to flourish, this game is literally up my alley, unforgiving survival game (like Rain World which is my number 1 favorite game). I hope this releases to steam someday.

(+12)

Good news Scav Prototype/Casualties: Unknown fans!
We now have a Speedrun.com page that you can now submit some speedruns to! If you have any suggestions on categories or anything else I'd be happy to hear them. To find it go to speedrun.com and search up Casualties: Unknown good luck you'll need it!

XD

(+10)

I find it funny how you can be on the brink of death and speaking in tongues and the best a fellow survivor can do is look at me funny and be like, 'sigh, I know life is hard down here, but can you PLEASE die a little quieter'

(+3)

Heya! You made a wonderdul stuff!
I like mechanics, atmosphere and hardcore, especially the health system and the soundtrack
But there are a couple of questions about the lore:

if the corp can mass-produse experiments and capsules - why not equip group (Could think about coop mode xD) expiditions? Sending them solo without gear feels odd for such an advanced entity even if it's very cheap, this is just ineffective

Hope these lore moments will be revealed in the future!

Thanks for the great game, looking forward to the next patches and hope for the emergence of a coop!

So far, what i read, all is behavior experiment. So lore wise is say that. Plus there's failsave that might some of Expies try leaving caves...

(+10)

Enjoying this!
Though I have a MAJOR issue with how powerful liquids are for seemingly no reason? Always seems like I get caught up in one tile of falling fluid and the game is like 'OOPE! Time to give the player 4 limbs of moderate bleeding and a broken bone from a fall that shouldn't have happened in the first place!

i died billion times and many more will, but i love this game
but yeah save option in middle of the layer would be helpful in some irl urgent situations

i found a glitch where if you combine something well it's in the backpack it stays in the backpack even if it exceeds max weight

(+1)

Very fun game, cute little guy as player character

(1 edit) (+9)

Goated game, I really suggest it to any player who likes rogue-like games. It has a good medical system and harsh environment. Takes time to get to new layers in the map and there are traps everywhere.

For any new players that has come upon this game.
Make sure to watch every step you take.

Thanks Orsoniks.

(2 edits) (+1)

Never made it any deeper than the first zone but the games fun!
The only annoyance I came into was the frequency of Loot that was behind a nearly indestructible layer of heat resistant metal, and the caves were less caves and more like something resembling the inside of a sponge.

(+3)

Just did my first run. Stepped on broken glass (twice), panicked trying to make some bandages, triggered a trap while running to a plant for foliage, died from cardiac arrest eventually (pretty quickly) while addicted to pain meds.
10/10 game THIS IS AMAZING!!!

Incredibly fun game, hope i get to see it go through and complete its development!

What can I say, awesome work so far! Keep it up! And shut up and take my münies! You deserve it!

PS. Works great on Nobara Linux through Lutris (Proton Experimental)

Thank you, chief

(+4)(-21)

good game, if only there were toggle setting to not be a furry

(+6)

It's part of the lore, boss

(+2)

Do you get intro right? YOU are one of those who was sent down there. So, Lore mate, lore.

(+13)

What absolutely blows me away is how deeply the environment affects them, both mentally and physically. You’re not just watching a meter go down — you’re hearing your character tell you, in their own words, what they’re going through.
If they’re exhausted, they might mutter “I should stop for a bit.”
If they’re badly hurt, they might admit “I can’t feel my legs…” or “I’m feeling dizzy.”
It’s so human, it’s almost unsettling — and it makes you want to take care of them in a way I’ve never felt in another game.

Little details like their reaction to seeing a corpse — maybe they freeze, maybe their mood sinks for the rest of the day — create a genuine bond between player and character. You don’t just play as them… you look after them. And every little thing you do has an emotional weight to it.

This is what makes Scav Prototype stand out for me: it doesn’t just simulate survival, it simulates the experience of living through survival. You feel the pressure, the fear, the small moments of relief — all through a character who reacts exactly how you’d imagine a real person would.

For a 2D pixel game to pull this off is incredible. It’s tense, immersive, and full of those “wow” moments where you forget you’re playing a game and start treating the character like someone you actually know. If this is just the prototype, I can’t wait to see the full vision come to life.

honestly with how quick people seem to get quite emotionally invested/attached to the character it would be kind of neat if they did something a bit like one shot where the character and player can speak and interact with each other in certain ways.

(+2)

My final take on the game, I would like to say it was a happy ending, but you know how this game goes...
Probably the most violent way to end.
But the adventure itself was hilarious!
Thank you for making this gem, I will be back with more later on.

(+4)

take my 7.75 usd god damn it

ya deserve it
