Peak game, I wonder if in the future you could play as the other species from gunsaw, or maybe it'll be random with each run? Either way, looking forward to seeing more
I feel that. So sorry to get furry friend die somewhere in the deep. As for me, most deaths are usually instant. Like a fall from hight and die from impact or get shoot down by turret.
If i save my game and then die, can i reload the save?
if not, is there any way to savescum? cuz i just got a really good run, (compared to my previous couple runs, im new) I have a toolbox, fanny pack, climbing claws, and heavy drill.
Well, how to say it... that's the point! Saves are made so that you can save the game only when you reach a new layer. If you just need to save it, then it's doubtful.
I've only played a few hours of the game and did a few runs, apart from also watching some videos, it's pretty fun, the music is super funky and the realistic mechanics for survival, the health system, the difficulty and such are AMAZING! Sure, it's a hard game, but it is incredibly modular (for the type of experience it wants you to feel), on the main menu screen so you can choose your own difficulty regarding loot and traps, not to mention the commands/cheat console; If an oficial full release ever gets published i'd LOVE to buy it!! I'll try and donate a few bucks when I get the chance!
Something else I really adore, it's the cool inspirations it seemed to have! A bit of Starbound, Terraria, Project Zomboid, and a few others; it has a really charming style!! Plus, you're a cute doggy-avali thingy, and I can't get enough of it!!
You really start to care for your character by the way it talks and communicates it's wants and discomforts, even pain or fear, mixed with the sound design for it and how it suffers when hurt. It feels incredibily real and watching them die, rather by our mistake, a fall, predators, poison, drugs, or even depression; it's incredibly saddening and hurtful. Again, it adds charm to the game, and a way to stop the player from being too compulsive, since every action matters. It's not a game that screams at you "Move quickly, you got a job to do", but instead... "Take your time. Your existence is hell, and you have no reason to make it more painful than it already is."
And for that, I think it's also incredibly rewarding. You don't need to rush unless you want to. You don't want to die so often? Then you can be careful, check for traps and enemies, take it slow, and care for the character that is going deeper underground in your company, left in your hands for you to control.
It may not go as deep as it seems to be, but I appreciate how real it all feels, the character's feelings, health, and even deaths. You die once your brain goes out.
Also, you can bark with B, I don't know it's uses but I like it :)
(Worth mentioning this too, I've tried Gunsaw, it's really cool to know how these two games are related with eachother and how Casualties: Unknown seems to use a modified engine of the first one, apart from seemingly being the first's prequel, lore-wise ^^)
Listen. There is a translation available right now, but it is only relevant until version 2, and then there are problems (In the new version, you get ahead of the game if you open a note and the merchants stop trading).

When you download you get a ZIP file (main thing when install games outside services like steam or epic) and all you need firstly to do is unpack.
Choose for yourself a place to unpack and have a full game files.
After that, you need to get into main files (like two folders in) and have main game application. That is a game turn on. Create shortcut by right click and select shortcut option and drag shortcut outside to desktop.
And here we go, you got game and easy open for later.
Went to pick up a rose. Rose was booby trapped with a landmine. Got peppered with shrapnel, dislocated my leg, arm and jaw, broke my hand and lost my eye. Survived that but drowned in oil at the next layer. 10/10 would cave dive here again.
I haven't played it yet but I will as soon as I can and I must say it has great potential If it were to be released on Steam and mods were allowed, I see possible modifications to the game like...It is modified to be an RPG: go and mine, collect things and sell them, be like the doctor and attend to accidents That will inevitably happen... many things can be taken out but mainly that is my idea that I just presented so if you like... maybe add it...
Amazing game, has the perfect amount of difficulty. though pls add falling asleep in 1 directions i tried to go too sleep and fell asleep the opposite way and slowly watched myself fall a good 100 feet.
I am probably not the first to say it, but I love this! Question though, and I hope its not rude, but how much inspiration did you get from other games? That is not to say you couldn't have come up with this from scratch! But I just want to know the process that you went through to get to where it is! Love the game, and I hope you continue working on it! Or anything for that matter! complex stuff is my favorite and it seems like you jive with that too!
I quickly got addicted to this game but MAN is layer 2 blurry. Even with a flashlight, lamps, and throwing glowfruit I can't tell what's the background and what's the foreground half the time. It's less of a gamma issue and seems to be an intentional choice, but if layer 2 could have some color variation or something that would be a huge help. Just the sheer amount of BLOOM in this zone makes everything a blurry nightmare.
That and layer 3's mines. Holy shit I die instantly to them half the time and they can hide in bushes or on like one block in a mound. I know this game is brutally hard but no trap has pissed me off more. I could be having a perfect run just to die to a bush mine that I have no chance of knowing about.
Otherwise addicted to this game, I can't wait to see how it develops.
Been playing the game for a few days now and I've really enjoyed what is here, never had a game with such in depth and detailed mechanics to keep yourself alive. While I personally enjoy it, despite not being that much of a very brutal and hardcore survival kind of player, I do have a few hang ups on the game so far I'd like to point out as personal opinions.
Firstly, the Death Spiral. Of the many runs I have, even with turned up loot the game often usually ended in a brutal death spiral where one problem turns into many, and while I do for the most part consider it entirely my fault in some, others it felt more or less just a bit frustrating at times. I actually really like that so many factors play into one another for how your character preforms actions but as it stands at the moment I think its a little too easy for you to spiral yourself at times.
One of the causes, and another smaller concern for myself on the side, is the pace of the game where it feels like a confliction in design. One where you have to head down quickly to reach your goal or find new supplies since digging through walls exerts you so much and takes a lot of time, while on the flip side you also want to take your time to not miss valuable resources that could save your life if you hit a trap or have a bad fall later. A lot of the injuries in the game take time to heal and while sleeping them off could help it comes at a huge cost to your over all health because sleeping leads you to starving or being dehydrated, two massive issues on their own as a trade off for somewhat fixing long term issues or other problems. Personally I think sleeping, thirst and hunger should all be slowed a lot down to help prevent spiraling into death because of them and trying to rest off other wounds. It would also be nice if sleeping helped cure ailments or fixing wounds faster as long as the quality of the place you sleep is decent enough.
Speaking of sleep on its own, more often than not, due to how often you have to sleep in this game it makes it rather hard at first to judge when exactly you should go to sleep. You can't sleep manually if your not tired enough, which I would change personally if you have a wound or sickness you are trying to aid. Encouraging you to rest when you are hurt to fix yourself allowing the player to take things a bit slower since one wrong step is all it takes to end your life in this game already. As it stands now, you can only really rest if your satiated and saturated. Full and not thirsty. If you sleep when either of those are low it can lead to starvation and dehydration fast and those end up getting you killed since both effect your performance in doing anything. I would also chance it so that if you pass out from the lack of sleep forcefully, even if it would kill you, you stay asleep until 25% of your sleep need is returned so you don't get stuck in an endless loop like I have multiple times where just barely enough liquid is sloshing around near by you it wakes you up by force and then knocks you out again since you are at 1% sleep. Another spiral of death that you just have to sit and accept since you can't mine, jump, or move away if you are in just a deep enough pit.
I'd also personally like even more hazards to be wary of. (This is coming from a player who struggles to get beyond the third layer. Might be more hazards I'm unaware of but its hard enough for me to get to them that I never actually encounter them, just keep that in mind.) Spiders and the swarm are both awful problems to deal with as is, along with traps but events like the Earth Quake don't really feel all that threatening unless you are injured and loosing control with a head injury. I'd personally like to see the Earth Quake be more dangerous, maybe not throwing you around but causing mini cave ins around you, falling blocks that can hurt you, passages shifting or something along the lines that makes traversal more difficult. I'd lean away from just tossing the character around at random as it just feels awkward when you are entirely healthy. Maybe slow movement speed instead to simulate them balancing themselves out and holding themselves steady to not be thrown around while rocks fall around them and they try to avoid getting knocked out by a stone hitting them directly in the head. Or the ground breaking under them sending the character to the abyss with poor positioning or just bad luck.
TL/DR: I would lean more into the slow pace of steadily making your way down in the game. Leaning more into taking your time and fixing yourself up over time as you make your way down. Slowing down your needs a lot, allowing for manual sleeping when your hurt or feel like you need it, or at very least resting, (Like holding still long enough you sit down or lay down to recover faster) But I'd still like the game to be brutal as is. Right now it feels a bit too unforgiving for taking slightly too long or going slightly too fast. Getting caught in Death loops is very very easy due to your total over all health affecting everything from movement to mining to even visuals. Trying to take your time currently leads to death more so than trying to push through which is usually 50/50 on finding something good or falling and breaking several bones, dislocating your ankles, causing internal bleeding and reversing your controls with head injuries. I love the game so far but considering how long it takes to actually heal yourself from problems, I'd slow the pace of the game down a little, like the needs for food, water, and sleep to compensate to allow you to focus on finding things you need to treat the most common injuries and diseases. I feel this would make for an awesome 2D immersive sim where slow and steady, along with careful preparation goes a long way to your success, while making it all that much more painful to die when everything was going right until that one big mistake you made.
In the end I wish nothing but the best for the Dev and I hope they keep creating because I'll be keenly watching and ready to give feedback and support to what could potentially end up being one of my favorite games to play in the future!
Yeah. The game is BRUTAL, but it's definitely intentional. It's supposed to really give the feeling that survival is almost impossible. I love how 'manual' the game feels.
A tip for falling; wall sliding can help slow momentum. It has helped turn a brutal death into just a little bump many times.
this game will hate you and make you suffer for times on end, finally go easy on you once only to then pull the rug from under you with beartraps, bat swarms and dealing with a mangled foot. i really like this game and it has a really unique concept, i love this game but boy do i die terrible deaths (which makes it even better)
would good if you add these next think first add than depending about you eight of fat like chubby fat overweight etc. you have some extra advantage like than when you are fat you are slow and dont jump soo hight and fall more fast but since you are fat the fall damage wont damage you soo much also you fat will soften the floor to when you sleep in hard rock its will make than its good since you fat are working as an extra pading also than when you are soo hungry you body will consume the fat soo you dont die soo fast but you will be weal also you can add than npc follow you if you had enought trust soo when you are hurted and near diying they can save you and also if you are overweight then if the npc follow you can make them sleep over you soo they dont suffer from the hard rock and sleep on an soft think also you can add perks like slow metabolism wich will make you hunger go down slower bhut will make you fat up alittle bit more and also add stronk perk wich will help you become more fast and you can hold more weight but wich will make you more hunger and also add an customization menu wich can modify you character like modify its body and change its personality like shy wich when you speak to an npc you will be shy or etc. also you can make than dependin you persona;ity you reputation with thems can increase or go down
Dying is part of the experience, death is very usual in the game, but it is never fast. It is a slow and painful death allmost all the time. But even though that, I have never gotten angry at death, I feel sadness instead, I had never felt that for a game, it is trully strange. The character is very comunicative, he is always talking, that is very cool, I never apreciated that so much from a game. As he dies, he tells you how much pain he is going through and he is so cute and that is just more sad and the visual effects just make it more immersive and makes you almost feel the fear the character is going throug. Every time he comes across someone's dead body says something so sad that you can even feel the saddness in his words. In one ocasion i became stuck in the bottom of a secondary cave and the character became depressed and he would refuse to do literally anything 8 of 10 times while questioning the purpose of life and telling me to go fuck myself, and I wasn't even mad, I was just sad aswell. This game is fucking awesome, its a 12/10, actually 15/10 because of being able to hug people, thats so fucking cute oh my god, at least a little bit of love in so much tragedy and suffer.
goty 2025 for me. have my kids orsoniks. This game is absolutely like horrible in the best way possible. Every mechanic and the tone of the game work with each other so well. Best of luck in the future with updating this goat
I love this game and its very dark themes, I hope the developer continues to expand on this game and universe further. I understand such dark theming isn't for everyone but it really is a core reason why this game is so touching. I really can see a bright future for this developer, especially if they keep up this level of good work its amazing! Literally just made my Itch account just to comment this lol

i like how the movement is like... very similar to Plazma Burst 2, even got the X button to ragdoll
I’m glad someone else noticed this, I thought I was crazy.
Peak game, I wonder if in the future you could play as the other species from gunsaw, or maybe it'll be random with each run? Either way, looking forward to seeing more
saw a ss14 reference lol, anyways good game play it and throw money at the creator
28 buried.. 3 brain dead.. 7 blood-lose..
0 found... in [unkown]...
That's the only reason I haven't downloaded the game yet-I'm too sorry to control the character. (the translation may not be accurate)

Yes i've already saved my game, im wondering if I load my game and then die if my save will be deleted, or if i can load the save again.
If you die at any point, your save is fried. Which makes me a bit sad, but I get it's the point
It's like Rain World and Zomboid had an evil bastard child, and then injected it with mutagen from NOITA.
I love it!
…Did I see your comment on a YT video too?
haha i love rainworld i actually thought this game was a fangame of it for a moment

OH MY DOG YOU CAN BARK? THANK YOU I LOVE YOU (also good review <3)
YES YOU CAAANNN AND IT'S SO CUTE, and thank you!! I tried to make a more "complete" review than saying "oh it's a good game" and that's it ^^
If you buy a backpack with inventory full it will auto equip but won't let you use it
how do I give things to traders?
from the inventory by holding the right mouse button and dragging it to the sale window.
"First run explore, loot then find sleeping pills eat 4 have a cardiac arrest then die "
10/10
Why not? THERE'S NOTHING TO EAT PILLS LIKE CANDY)
This game is pretty addictive ngl, after i die im like sure lets go again xd
I really want to play this game, but it seems there is no Russian language here, which puts a big wall in front of me.
Listen. There is a translation available right now, but it is only relevant until version 2, and then there are problems (In the new version, you get ahead of the game if you open a note and the merchants stop trading).
So if necessary, just search the Internet for the «scavenger prototype russifier» and then you will find it on github. Download the file. And in the file win.rar you're looking for the lang point. You upload the installed file there (before that, make it in the notepad format) and THAT's IT!
P.S. you can change the lines in the game in notepad.
But what about the full transfer? Well... we have to wait :/ (I don't mind)
update! New Russian translation for 4v!
so how do y'all run the game? I could not find the executeable file (.exe)? Is it run by by cmd or powershell? need help. thanks
you have to dezip it
When you download you get a ZIP file (main thing when install games outside services like steam or epic) and all you need firstly to do is unpack.
Choose for yourself a place to unpack and have a full game files.
After that, you need to get into main files (like two folders in) and have main game application. That is a game turn on. Create shortcut by right click and select shortcut option and drag shortcut outside to desktop.

this game is really fun, only issue i have is that theres no multiplayer
Yes, that would be nice.
hmm... it would be cruelly fun >:)
This is an amazing survival game. I can't wait to see more content. It reminds me a lot of Noita.
“Young thornback” oh does this mean there’s some sort of elder thornba-
oh.
oh my god.
what cheat commands this game have?
not really sure, theres probably a wiki for it
just write in the “help”
just realised theres a "help" command that tells you most if not all commands. really helpful
Went to pick up a rose. Rose was booby trapped with a landmine. Got peppered with shrapnel, dislocated my leg, arm and jaw, broke my hand and lost my eye. Survived that but drowned in oil at the next layer. 10/10 would cave dive here again.
so does anyone know how to save? i have a game that ive got pretty good stuff but i dont know how to save
i lost it
YEAUP YOU CAN ONLY SAVE AND WHEN YOU GO TO THE NEXT LAYER
IF YOU QUIT BEFORE THAT YOU LOSE YOUR SAVE FILE
The developer added a new "failsave" command
And when do alt f4 is counts as quitting game.
Amazing game, has the perfect amount of difficulty. though pls add falling asleep in 1 directions i tried to go too sleep and fell asleep the opposite way and slowly watched myself fall a good 100 feet.
i made an account just to say this game should get more support, financial or not
best game ive ever played
This game is actually great, I love the constand pain i suffer while playing the game. I do have one question though, how do i use the mp3 player?
I am probably not the first to say it, but I love this! Question though, and I hope its not rude, but how much inspiration did you get from other games? [EDIT: Suggestions moved to the discord.]
Already a very good game, I have issues with falling but that can easily be fixed by throwing glowing fruits first and checking for geysers.
7/10 I keep dying but that's ok. Don't have the best memory of the recipes though.

meh, ill wait till theres more content, at least a better world generation.
i experienced every kind of misery ever experienced in the span of 30 minutes, and also a few new ones i invented. 10/10
Spent too long in the tutorial messing with keybinds and died from dehydration/cardiac arrest
10/10 game already in love
would good if you add these next think first add than depending about you eight of fat like chubby fat overweight etc. you have some extra advantage like than when you are fat you are slow and dont jump soo hight and fall more fast but since you are fat the fall damage wont damage you soo much also you fat will soften the floor to when you sleep in hard rock its will make than its good since you fat are working as an extra pading also than when you are soo hungry you body will consume the fat soo you dont die soo fast but you will be weal also you can add than npc follow you if you had enought trust soo when you are hurted and near diying they can save you and also if you are overweight then if the npc follow you can make them sleep over you soo they dont suffer from the hard rock and sleep on an soft think also you can add perks like slow metabolism wich will make you hunger go down slower bhut will make you fat up alittle bit more and also add stronk perk wich will help you become more fast and you can hold more weight but wich will make you more hunger and also add an customization menu wich can modify you character like modify its body and change its personality like shy wich when you speak to an npc you will be shy or etc. also you can make than dependin you persona;ity you reputation with thems can increase or go down
Dying is part of the experience, death is very usual in the game, but it is never fast. This game is fucking awesome, its a 12/10, actually 15/10 because of being able to hug people, thats so fucking cute oh my god, at least a little bit of love in so much tragedy and suffer.
i love this game so much
silly litle guy torment nexus :3
also just, lerning how to do well is so much fun, despite the horrors and horible injuries and constant death
the new life pods and trading system are great too (not being locked to one category at a time is so much better, and feels more like actual trading)
goty 2025 for me. have my kids orsoniks.
This game is absolutely like horrible in the best way possible. Every mechanic and the tone of the game work with each other so well. Best of luck in the future with updating this goat
needs a steam release because ITCH games never get the attention they need
A mix of features from several of my favorite games, would definitely buy a full version if it hit steam or similar.
I love this game and its very dark themes, I hope the developer continues to expand on this game and universe further. I understand such dark theming isn't for everyone but it really is a core reason why this game is so touching. I really can see a bright future for this developer, especially if they keep up this level of good work its amazing! Literally just made my Itch account just to comment this lol
is it moddable?
absolute cinema
