I think this game has tremendous potential. I’ve never seen a game with such an exquisitely detailed portrayal of characters’ psychology, and I genuinely love it. I hope it can be released on Steam after some further improvements. Also, why does everyone in the Discord server call the protagonist "Expire"? I haven’t noticed any in-game descriptions mentioning the protagonist’s name.
Are these notes implemented in the current version of the game? If these notes are only planned to be introduced into the game with an update and you want to find out about them in the game itself, it seems to me that it is better to refrain from reading. IMHO
I've seen notes on the wall before, but I didn't pay much attention to them. At first, I even thought it was a bug in the game. So why does everyone call him expie?
Very traumatizing... I like.. and I'm keeping the game >:D (I shall wait for any updates and if its gonna cost then you can have my money [when I get some] bc its very worth it UuU)
so i've been checking this games comments for a hot minute and i see a lot of people feel really bad for the protag and stuff, so i decided to do a little nice thing and draw something (somewhat) wholesome. enjoy (2)
for what little content this game has it’s still awesome, the effects are abundant and are very well optimized and run well even on a 2018 laptop, and to top it all off, runs perfectly on wine
10/10 man, keep it up
Hello from the Russian community, the game is awesome, for me the most surprising thing was how good the health system is, and this is just a DEMO. So, I decided to finish the Russian localization (fortunately it turned out to be not difficult at all), and added another detailed description of food and medicines. I want to do the same but with English localization. It looks like this: Кто хочет могу скинуть (мой дс ._.wint._.)
woah hands down one of the BEST games I’ve ever played, never had a game genuinely made me feel bad for the pc (player character) usually when I see the pc get hurt or something I kinda laugh and joke abt it, but the way the developer made the dialog for injuries and stuff genuinely made me feel bad, the whimpers of pain every so often, the player yelling out or complaining about it later on, the screen effects… it’s safe to say I’ve gotten very good at not getting hurt lol, but all jokes aside, this game is amazing, especially when I fall 180 meters onto a bear trap and get fucking exploded by a land mine ;-;
seriously though, it’s criminal that this game is free, not like im complaining though lol
The first time I played, I thought the protagonist would have the same high maneuverability as the protagonist in Gunsaw, but then I fell to my death, hehe
to be fair it is kinda fucked up, compared to many games this one doesn't try to sugarcoat suffering, unlike many other horror/survivals where getting hurt only leads to your character dying instantly or bandaging its arm to make it stop, here you see in detail how your critter pukes its guts out, has its eardrums ruptured, head bashed, bleeds, whimpers, cries and writhes in pain while still having to pop joints back in anlongside picking out glass shard and barbed wire from its body because time doesn't allow for downtime
please add an option for you yourself (the player) to comfort the poor creature, even if it has no ingame advantages, i hate seeing them die alone in a pitch
alternative give us cyanide pills to make their suffering shorter because i hate seeing them spends hours on a slow death
You're more likely to find opioids or mindwipes. Just inject the painkillers and die happy, or at least fully remove your psyche and die before your body does
Like, one one hand I genuinely think this game is a work of art, like the worldbuilding, the soundtrack, the brutality, EVERYTHING here is so well done and I think it's a masterclass in what games as a medium can achieve...
On the other hand, WTF DID I JUST WATCH?! WHAT DID I JUST DO!??! THAT WAS HORRIBLE!!! Words cannot express how terrible I feel playing this game, the first time I played I felt like I was going to genuinely throw up!! This game just keeps finding increasingly morbid ways to kill my character, I keep thinking that they just need to make it a little further, they'll find some medical items and it will all be ok... BUT NO. I'll slip up and they'll experience the most PAINFUL, SLOW death ever!
Why did you have to make some voice lines use 2nd person Orsoniks, WHY!!?? Usually I hate 4th wall breaking as it often takes away from the setting, but it implies that the little fella you play as is aware that they are being controlled by some higher being, yet they feel EVERYTHING that happens, AND it reminds ME that ultimately I'M the one causing all it's suffering and misery!! Like, I'd still feel bad watching IT step on a beartrap, but I'm reminded that I'M the one that made it step on the beartrap, and that makes me feel HORRIBLE. It also implies that the ONLY form of self-control it has over it's own body is choosing to KILL ITSELF! AND THATS F*CKED!!
Just take my goddamn $20 donation Orsoniks. By god you deserve it more that the AAA slop. I really want to recommend this experience, because it is THE best-worst experience I've ever had, but if your a bit of a snowflake like me just be prepared what you're in for. It's not fun.
Can't believe I'm having a crisis over itch.io furry game. wtf.
theres something about "It also implies that the ONLY form of self-control it has over it's own body is choosing to KILL ITSELF!" thats really fucking funny lol
*Dev replies* *It's about the brutality of the game* "There's something about "It also implies that the ONLY form of self-control it has over its own body is choosing to KILL ITSELF!" that's really fucking funny lol
Conclusion: Orsoniks is a psychopath and sadist towards Experiments.
Though, if I'm honest, I don't seem to relate to these comments. I love the realism, but I never really think about how bad the character feels. One time, I fell in a ditch with a box of medical supplies behind a steel wall, breaking both my legs, bleeding from five places and brain damaged by Heroin overdose. I slammed myself at the metal wall in between me and salvation until my entire body was infected. I slapped the LRD onto me and... recovered, actually. But then my brain was so damaged from narcotics that I was comatose, and then died of starvation. I love how the game gives you hope, has you drive an overabused, tired body through agonising pain and depression towards a sliver of a chance at survival, only to do what it does best. Fucking awesome game, Orsoniks. My props to you.
For a demo, what is on offer here is a really challenging, yet fun, experience. I found myself getting into it enough to realize 2 hours had passed while I was playing. Shout outs to this dev.
Very good game, I'm a gore fan, this game is almost perfectly in line with my vision, I think the current completion is fully worth the $10 price - and I have paid for it, but there are a few minor drawbacks, such as the game window size can not be adjusted, and the pain effects too blocked the view.
Another question - if I want a special edition of my character, can I make one? How much should I pay for it if I can?
The fact that this is a DEMO and has more content and variety in terms of items and mechanics than most “finished” paid games is absolutely astounding to me.
As a side-note: I haven’t felt such dread playing a game in a very long time…
Anyways, keep up the good work! I’ll be sure to come back if a full version is going to be released.
The turrets' ability to shoot the player from off-screen is imo a bad trap design. I would advise setting a limit on the turret's firing range or adding a faint red laser indicating where they can shoot, so those traps are more fair and avoidable.
How do I fix it when there is yellow blood in the bottom of my head?I cant find any message about it, it's just not saying OK. I've tried all medicine I have and sleep with pills several times, and used healing machine in a locked room still can't fix it. Neverending painfulness cause my character keep suiciding.
I mean, you're playing a game as an experimental animal, overabused, dead before reaching its goal, not even deserving pronouns despite it being a living, sentient being. Irrecoverable punishment seems in line with what the game is trying to do lol
I've played only one run of this. I lasted longer than I expected to. Perhaps longer than I should've.
People in the comments aren't kidding when they say this game is brutal, not just mechanically, but psychologically. One slip-up can leave you with a wound you'll be dealing with for the rest of your short life, and the screen effects and the character's dialogue make sure that you know exactly how much pain he's in.
I made it to layer 3, but I was probably already doomed by then. His whole leg was infected, and by the time I found something to treat it, all it could do was slow it down. My little fluffy dog guy died slowly, lying in some sandy pit, trying to claw himself to death before the sepsis and starvation could beat him to it. There was nothing I could do but watch. There was a part of me that hoped he might die during the times he passed out from exhaustion, because he was in too much pain to sleep. He didn't get that mercy.
This is a very good game. I don't know if I have it in me to play a second run.
I played a second run. A swarm of carnivorous bugs chased me face-first into the bad end of a barbed-wire fence. I was lucky that I fell on a side they couldn't figure out how to reach, and that I had enough dressings to patch up the wounds covering his entire body, but I was never able to get the resulting infections under control. At least he got to die in his sleep this time, with the help of one too many painkillers.
Somehow, despite being not as bad of a death, this one hit me a lot harder emotionally than the first. No piece of media has ever made me feel more like I was watching an actual person die. I applaud you for what you've created here, Orsoniks. I wish I could handle it, but I am too weak to go through that again.
Deadass had to make an account just to share my opinion on this game. (10/10, definitely gave me a spark of creativity to make my own survival game.)
When I first heard about this game on YouTube, the uneasiness was unreal. It was 2am at the time, so idk. I eventually got the game through here, and my favorite thing about this game is being able to explode survivors with the command thingy (` button next to 1 and above tab and typing 'Explode") when they don't trade with me. I love this game. I would absolutely pay money to play this game, but I'm broke. Words are meaningful though. I'm genuinely excited to see what happens in the future.
its genuinely insane how brutal but fun it is. reached layer 3 and died to a landmine afterwards. 11/10 worth it, cant wait to see what this has to offer in the future.

I don't know if commenting actually helps you in any way, but I guess I will regardless. Looks like a neat game, even if I had to quit five minutes in, as hearing the little thing crying as they bled to death crushed me on a level I didn't know was possible.
Not for me, clearly, but it looks very promising for those who will be of stronger spirit, based off what I've heard from people in communities I'm part of.
Edit: My one piece of criticism I can levy, given my barely existent playtime, is that the existing content warning does not nearly adequately prepare the player for what they will be subjected to. I did not go into the game expecting to be forced to listen to a creature as it died, or read its pleas for help going unanswered in its final moments. I wasn't prepared. :(
But I did it on purpose because my character was dying of bleeding and exhaustion and infection and was in a pit of oil and couldn't sleep without dying
I still can't believe this is a demo, its such a good and addicting game, the soundtrack and the way the game's health system works is amazing.
One slight problem I and a few others have with it is there's no saving system, it feels bad to end a good 2-3 hour run just because I've been playing for too long, get burnt out and want to play another game.
Also a feature that I think would be cool to enable as a difficulty option is to make it so you can't see through walls.

you should look at the english json files on github that says "wallnotes" read them all it gives a bit of an idea about the character TuT
Are these notes implemented in the current version of the game? If these notes are only planned to be introduced into the game with an update and you want to find out about them in the game itself, it seems to me that it is better to refrain from reading. IMHO

Top left of your health interface says Experiment.
The same creatures we played as in Gunsaw were called Experiments.
We're playing as a species called Experiment.
Yes, I know. So why is he called expie?
Affectionate nickname by the community?
Very traumatizing... I like.. and I'm keeping the game >:D (I shall wait for any updates and if its gonna cost then you can have my money [when I get some] bc its very worth it UuU)
WAS NOT EXPECTING A SINGLE BIT OF HUMOR FROM THIS GAME
ANYWAY TOOK WAY TOO MANY TRIES TO GET THE SHARDS OUT,ONLY TO START SOMEHOW DYING OF OXYGEN DEPRIVATION RIGHT AFTER
AM ENJOYING,THOUGH
Ah, you see, you do not die from blood loss. You die because blood isn't carrying oxygen to your brain. Therefore, if you bleed out, you suffocate.
This is portrayed in-game.
AH,RIGHT,I HAD FORGOTTEN ABOUT THAT DETAIL
THANK YOU FOR REMINDING ME
if you're gonna speak in all caps, i will speak in all bottoms
great art dude, here take my morphine and antibod
My GF cried when I streamed this game to her so yeah thanks for that...
Love the game though, 10/10! Probably the most unique game I've played in a while.
yay its back but better (I think)
Very surprising game, but I'm curious about his background...
for what little content this game has it’s still awesome, the effects are abundant and are very well optimized and run well even on a 2018 laptop, and to top it all off, runs perfectly on wine 10/10 man, keep it up
i named him peanut :3
peanut shall die a horrible death

please add an option for you yourself (the player) to comfort the poor creature, even if it has no ingame advantages, i hate seeing them die alone in a pitch

marvelous, i will make sure to give them bleach soup if the situation requires it

ah, the good ol project zomboid solution
I feel like this game has mentally broken me...

where the heck did you pay 10$ for a game that just released a demo?
Right here, if you download the game, you might see that option

That's like making the landmines and beartraps glow just as much as the spikes
interesting game, but i couldnt bring myself to play it for long cause i feel bad when the creature gets hurt
oh hello tsoewoe :D Nice too meet you in these comments
(i love your videos btw, both the old and new ones.)
Could you upload the game as a .zip instead of a .rar? the itch desktop app can't install .rar bc computers or something idk
How do I fix it when there is yellow blood in the bottom of my head?I cant find any message about it, it's just not saying OK. yellow on the health doll means missing. you may notice some trouble speaking and eating
Yeah. So... this is permanent punishment? Even unable to heal wounds to alleviate pain?
I mean, you're playing a game as an experimental animal, overabused, dead before reaching its goal, not even deserving pronouns despite it being a living, sentient being. Irrecoverable punishment seems in line with what the game is trying to do lol

Rest in peace, little dog guy. ;-;
:)
Every run is a story, I swear.
Can probably write a book about it
Add a save/continue system, please, not everyone can spend 5 hours STRAIGHT in a run, it would be cool to be able to save to continue another time.
I rated the game 5 stars, at the moment this is how I can be helping in some way.
not a save-quit, but tabbing out of the window will pause ingame time, which i've found very handy when i need to go do something
try not to walk into a sentry or trap hidden within a bush challenge 99.99% will fail! 😂😂🙏🙏
Deadass had to make an account just to share my opinion on this game. (10/10, definitely gave me a spark of creativity to make my own survival game.)
When I first heard about this game on YouTube, the uneasiness was unreal. It was 2am at the time, so idk. This game's screen effects, the character's dialogue, sound effects, and entire setting in general was probably one of the most impactful things I've ever experienced in my whole life to the point where it eventually made me queasy.
11/10 worth it, cant wait to see what this has to offer in the future.
legit created an account to yap about this
made it past layer 10, this game is SOOOOOOO good
it's brutal, but with enough caution, knowledge, and skill, you'll learn to master the game
I think my coolest moment was when I got a really bad injury in my chest, ended up using literal life support to keep myself alive while I slowly, painfully removed shrapnel, before eventually managing to bandage myself up
also the OST is literally all banger sbut like also when it isn't made to simply be straight fire it REALLY fits the situation you're in, Is This The End..? is my favorite ost purely because it fits the situation it's used in extremely well
anyways if this ever gets finished I'd buy it in a heartbeat
Lol, hard agree on the edit
Come join us again, let's listen to a dog guy slowly bleed out from falling 500 meters again
Add a save/continue system, please.
I rated the game 5 stars, at the moment this is how I can be helping in some way.
You don't need save if you are going to die anyway.
In Project Zomboid you can save, not everyone can spend 5 hours STRAIGHT in a run, it would be cool to be able to save to continue another time.
Oh i see, now i think that is a good idea too
:D
i literally made an account just so i could post my art of this game
enjoy
look like he really want some morphine or fentanyl, idk
Malnourished child
You've seen pinhead, now get ready for blockhead

(he was much nicer than pinhead. 10/10 roommate, donated like half my inventory)
10000/10 died of opium and fentanyl overdose while starving
would die of organ failure again
(seriously good game tho)
Lol, I actually did the same
But I did it on purpose because my character was dying of bleeding and exhaustion and infection and was in a pit of oil and couldn't sleep without dying
Hope you die of organ failure again!
I would donate but I don't have any money. Hope this game gets the fame it deserves tho
